We also support women in the roofing field, and because we do, Dean Martin Roofing, along with other women that work and volunteer in the Pittsburgh area within other roofing companies, have come together to form the Pittsburgh Chapter of National Women in Roofing (NWiR).

The mission of NWiR is to empower women in the roofing industry.

National Women in Roofing  is a volunteer-based organization that supports and advances the careers of women roofing professionals, from manufacturing to design to installation, investigation to repair to management, and every step in between. NWiR provides networking, mentoring, education and industry recruitment opportunities from the rooftop to the boardroom, for the young professional at the start of her career to the seasoned manager in the executive suite. Through a commitment to connect and empower women in roofing, NWiR members contribute to the overall betterment and professionalism of the roofing industry.

Membership also includes and welcomes men who support the inclusion of women in the roofing industry. Working together, NWiR members are bringing the industry to a new level of excellence by supporting and promoting the contributions of women as an essential component to the future of roofing.

A WORD FROM OUR OWNER

When I started working in roofing 31 years ago, it was just a job I thought I could perform to make some good money, support my family, and pay my bills. Then after a few years, roofing gets into your blood! I started to have a passion for building something with my hands. It becomes a way of life. You notice all the roofs everywhere you go. You see all the beautiful roofs, the ones that need a small repair, and the ones that should not even be on a house with families in it.

Roofing is not just a job. Roofing Contractors are protectors of your family, possessions, heirlooms, health, and way of life. We are problem solvers, visionaries, hard workers in any weather element, and we love to collaborate with others in our field. We are a tight-knit group, a roofing family, if you will.

After attending a weeklong International Roofers Convention in 2021 in Las Vegas, I realized there is so much more than tearing off old shingles and replacing them with new ones. We are preserving our heritage, history, and beauty in the world we live in. A world that needs a roof over its head to protect us, and keep us safe, no matter where we come from.
